Video Edits & Case Study (4/27-5/1)
This week I planned to work on the website with the given feedback from last class. I also worked on the video; filming, recording a voiceover, and editing. And lastly, work on the portfolio case study.
Website
Taking the feedback from last week, I reworked the how to play section. Previously it was too text heavy and users would feel deterred to read all the rules. I tried simplifying it by showing the cards instead. It would be a nice touch to have them animated, but I’m unsure if the website has a place to live in the video. If I were to animate them, I don’t think it would get enough exposure. I’m considering adding 1-2 lines in the video script to mention the game can be found online.
Video
I took some footage of how the game would work. But as mentioned earlier, I’m considering adding more to the script in order to add the website into the video.
I’ve been splicing clips together and I found music that fits the mood of the experience. After a few more video clips, it’ll be close to finished.
Here together is a collaborative card game that invites people to have conversations around loss. Processing emotions around this can be difficult, and oftentimes is a topic people have trouble articulating. Here together creates a safe space for you and loved ones to process these feelings.
To play, you take turns drawing cards and answering questions. If you don't feel comfortable answering any of your questions, there are cards that allow you to swap questions or skip instead. Once you have answered a couple questions, you can play a discussion card and have an open conversation about it.

Here together gives you the opportunity to share stories, memories and thoughts you haven’t had the chance to share before. Whether it’s with friends, family, or strangers, here together brings people closer.
Reflection
While editing the video, I realized I needed a few more clips to fill in space. I’m glad got started on the video this week rather than waiting it out. This also gave me a chance to rethink what elements to add such as website animations. I’m still trying to figure out which details to include in the final presentation.
Next Steps
Next week I’ll be polishing up the video and final presentation. Also finalizing where I’ll be uploading this project.
